THIS year’s X Factor wildcard acts have been announced, with the the fate of four hopefuls lying once more in the hands of the public.
The four혻contestants혻??each picked by one혻judge for another of their혻fellow panellists??categories ??will join Honey G in the line-up, after Ivy Grace Paredes had to pull out혻from the competition due to혻visa issues.
The wildcard tradition dates back to 2011 – but whatever happened to the previous lucky acts who made it through by the skin of their teeth?
Here we take a look back at their X Factor careers and what they’re up to now.
Having only made it to Judge’s Houses during her first X Factor stint, Monica returned the following year and was awarded a place in the live finals as a wildcard act.
She survived several weeks before she was booted off mid-way through the series – after Olly Murs awkwardly revealed she was going home before the results were announced.
Monica recently appeared on This Morning where she showcased an incredible five stone weight loss.
She혻admitted: “I took some drastic action and got a gastric band.”
Monica is still making music and has혻tweeted links to her tunes on Twitter.
Loveable London-born former chimney sweep Kye Sones혻made it to week 5 of the live shows in the 2012 competition, 혻having been drafted in as a wildcard.
Now Kye,혻who is close mates혻with Ferne Cotton and godfather to her son Rex, is still busy working as a singer/songwriter and is trying to make his name혻in the music industry.
He released his debut EP Seven in 2013, after working with Gabrielle Aplin and Iain James, which made it to혻number 2 in the iTunes chart.
Kye has gone on to write and produce music for several혻TV shows, adverts혻and혻apps and is working혻on various혻big dance tracks with Ultra records and Hospital Records.

Christopher was a surprise wildcard in series nine in 2012, after the public chose him over popular act혻Amy Mottram.
He proved to be the winning choice, as he made it all the way to the final, finishing in third place despite혻being dubbed a "cabaret" and "cruise ship" singer by judge Louis Walsh.
He came out as gay in혻March 2013 and later that year he released his혻debut single My Heart Belongs to You.
Christopher made headlines after he posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed after his nose job in 2015 and later admitted he had never been happy with his appearance.
Earlier this year he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house.
After 22 days he was혻the fifth person to be evicted, after receiving the fewest amount of votes to stay on.
Lola혻progressed to the live shows thanks to her mentor Cheryl, who brought her back as a wildcard in 2014.
But her stint on the show ended that November after a Deadlock with Stereo Kicks.
Lola has continued to pursue a career in music and has released several tracks혻since the X Factor.
She is also now performing in Save The Last Dance For Me alongside Blue star Antony Costa, who will play Milton.
Enthusiastic Stevi was a Marmite character on series 11, but despite that he managed to finish in sixth place.
While on the show he struck up a relationship with fellow contestant Chloe Jasmine혻Whichello.
The pair are now set to get혻hitched,혻but have a rocky relationship, having called off their engagement in April before reuniting shortly after.
Both took part in Celebrity Big Brother in 2015, reaching the final and coming fifth.
Stevie often performs with Park Resorts Holiday Parks at their Cambersands Beach location and has made appearances on Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women.
Everyone remembers Wagner, the혻Brazilian-born,혻silver-haired retired PE teacher, who attracted혻a cult following when he bagged혻a place in the finals of The X Factor혻in 2010.

Reports claim혻bandmate Joey announced he wanted to leave to pursue a solo career which혻sparked a social media row between them all.
Since then they've혻rarely been seen together.
